MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The primary function of a Sales Ledger Accounts Assistant is to coordinate the collection of finances and the resolution of account queries, raising sales invoices and issuing credit notes ensuring the administration of the department runs smoothly and assisting within the Accounts department.  

RELATIONSHIPS:

a) Responsible to: Financial Director / Management Accountant/ Supervisor

b) Responsible for: None

c) Liaison with: Directors, Managers, Clients, 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Producing sales invoices to include waiting time
• Self-billing for hauliers
• Ensuring price check evaluation is up to date
• Assisting with Material and Haulage invoices
• Maintaining the cash account and issuing refunds
• Input of trading tickets
• Filing of weighbridge tickets
• Dealing with invoicing queries in an effective and timely manner.
• Regular customer contact by phone and email
• Keep a record of all communication with customer
• Resolve all problems for customers, copy invoices, proof of delivery, credit notes and liaise internally to progress any problems that are handled in any department.
• Maintaining confidentiality of the department and using discretion where necessary.
• Ensuring good relations and communications with all members of the team and responding politely and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers. 
• Working with all members of staff to maintain and develop the positive progressive culture.
• To comply with company Factory Production Control Manual in support of SRC Quality Objectives 
• To act in accordance with the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and practices, highlighting any issues appropriately. 
• To perform duties as directed by Manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
• Enthusiastic, committed and a fast learner with previous experience of a busy environment
• Computer literate with an aptitude for numbers
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accountancy procedures
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to work with individuals across departments and liaise with external customers and contacts
• Solid organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload
